چکیده

In this note we introduce the concept of a quasi-finite complex. Next, we show that for a given countable and locally finite CW complex L the following conditions are equivalent: L is quasi-finite. There exists a [L]-invertible mapping of a metrizable compactum X with e− dimX ≤ [L] onto the Hilbert cube. Finally, we construct an example of a quasi-finite complex L such that its extension type [L] does not contain a finitely dominated complex.

Some simple examples from quantum physics and control theory are used to illustrate the application of the theory of Lie systems. We will show, in particular, that for certain physical models both of the corresponding classical and quantum problems can be treated in a similar way, may be up to the replacement of the involved Lie group by a central extension of it. The geometric techniques devel...

We construct a central extension of the group of automorphisms of a 2-Tate vector space viewed as a discrete 2-group. This is done using an action of this 2-group on a 2-gerbe of gerbel theories. This central extension is used to define central extensions of double loop groups.

Using finite difference method for solving linear two-point fuzzy boundary value problems based on extension principle

In this paper an efficient Algorithm based on Zadeh's extension principle has been investigated to approximate fuzzy solution of two-point fuzzy boundary value problems, with fuzzy boundary values. We use finite difference method in term of the upper bound and lower bound of $r$- level of fuzzy boundary values. The proposed approach gives a linear system with crisp tridiagonal coefficients matr...

These are notes of lectures given at The NATO Advanced Study Institute/EC Summer School on " New Theoretical Approaches to Strongly Correlated Systems " , (Newton Institute, April 2000). They are a sequel to the notes I wrote two years ago for the Summer School, " Topological Aspects of Low Dimensional Systems " , (Les Houches, July 1998). In this second part, I review the form-factors techniqu...

Study of Torsional Vibrations of Composite Poroelastic Spherical Shell-Biot’s Extension Theory

Torsional vibrations of composite poroelastic dissipative spherical shell are investigated in the framework of Biot’s extension theory. Here composite poroelastic spherical shell consists of two spherical shells, one is placed on other, and both are made of different poroelastic materials. Consideration of the stress-free boundaries of outer surface and the perfect bonding between two shells lea...
